Spring Break Cruising

Late fall and early winter are an ideal time to book a Spring Break cruise. While some people book Spring Break cruises more than six months in advance, you’ll find that the selection of destinations and itineraries is still excellent. The choice of staterooms is very good as well, and a cruise consultant can help you select the best one for you and your traveling companions.
In the spring, most cruise vacationers are looking for warm climates, whether to defrost from a northern winter or to get a head start on their summer tans.

Popular destinations include the Bahamas; the islands of the Eastern or Southern Caribbean; Mexico’s Caribbean coast, which includes Cozumel, Cancun and the Riviera Maya; and Mexico’s Pacific Coast, also known as the Mexican Riviera. You could also cruise the Panama Canal, or venture farther south to South America.

Spring Break usually comes a bit too early for cruises of Alaska or Northern Europe, but if you’d like to cruise Europe the Mediterranean is open for business. A Mediterranean cruise can take you to the lovely European cities of Barcelona, Nice, Rome and Venice, to name a few. Or, for a truly refreshing change from winter at home, choose a cruise of the sun washed Greek Isles.

If you’re worried about sharing your Spring Break cruise with a crowd of rowdy college or high school students, know that most cruise lines have policies that require chaperones for younger guests. Ask your personal cruise expert for more details.
